Describe a typical day in your role?

Very rare are two days the same. Typically, the morning will start with a meeting with my management team. The agenda is pretty much a discussion on the revenue forecasted for the day as well as coaching and workshop plans. These meetings are repeated in the afternoon, and the end of shift where a review of the day is held. Pretty much everything in between is ad hoc! Like I say no two days are the same!

GEAB Career Highlight:

Taking on various projects which allowed me to showcase my skills, and which have ultimately provided the company with a platform to grow.

Describe the GEAB team in 3 words:

Loud, Tenacious, Driven.

What does it take to be successful at GEAB?

A willingness to learn and a hunger to succeed - as cliched as that sounds.

New team members should know:

It’s loud and fast-paced and can be unbelievably fun!

Career goal?

To continue to support the directors of the business. My immediate aim is to help support growth and development within the company.

Motivational motto:

You get out what you put in.

Mentor:

I highly respect and the American author/businessman John C. Maxwell. Some of his conferences have really resonated with me and I’m currently subscribed to his podcast.

The best career advice you’ve been given?

Back your own ability.

Describe a typical day in your role?

Generating leads means building good rapport with customers to grow our client list and build revenue. I’ve updated a spreadsheet with every potential lead, confirmed lead, and customer, since the day I started. Being organised is key.

GEAB Career Highlight:

I have a relationship with one of my largest clients who refers me to all his friends and clients. I entered the GEAB club. I’ve won countless daily incentives up to £100 a day, as well as five TVs, and a £5000 holiday.

What does it take to be successful at GEAB?

The drive to do well. You can’t just be here for your basic.

New team members should know:

Commission is brilliant. Incentives are brilliant. Coaches are brilliant. Management are brilliant.

Career goal?

I’ve been a lead generator for three years now, and I’m looking to enter management, eventually.

The only person you should try to be better than, is who you were yesterday.

The best career advice you’ve been given?

Learn to work with people who you wouldn’t go to dinner with, and, you can’t build a reputation on what you’re going to do.

Describe a typical day in your role?

I have overall responsibility for all legal issues. This encompasses primarily commercial contracts, corporate structure, employment law, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, data protection, as well as managing external lawyers, so the role is incredibly varied. In addition to the ‘Immediate Action’ tasks which take up the bulk of my day, I am also working to build structures, documents and processes to support the development of the business in the future.

As a relatively new starter to the business, I think the best is yet to come!

What does it take to be successful at GEAB?

While natural talent clearly has its place, I think having the right attitude is by far the most important attribute anyone can bring to their role.

New team members should know:

We operate in a highly competitive, technical industry, but one which offers fantastic rewards and great opportunities for progression. Anyone who wants to be successful must bring their A-game to everything they do. The potential rewards speak for themselves but, in addition, we have a fantastic team spirit, the opportunity to work with and learn from some fantastic people, and the possibility to be part of something really special.

Career goal?

I want to see this business continue to grow sustainably, and be a true market leader among national (and potentially international) energy consultancies.

Everyone – and I mean EVERYONE – you meet knows something you don’t know. Talk to them, learn from them.

Describe a typical day in your role?

Joining the inbound team can seem like an easy option against outbound sales, however after running the campaign and team for a few months, I can now say there is nothing easy about it. As this is a new part of the business we are forced to act and push decisions quickly and be as time efficient as possible.

GEAB Career Highlight:

When I was a lead generator, I won a £5k incentive, paid straight into my bank by Mr Cobb. The moment I passed my probation as a Sales Team Manager was also a great highlight.

What does it take to be successful at GEAB?

Determination and absolute belief in yourself. Stay humble, stay focused. Your only as good as your last month.

We support staff from top to bottom, as well as personalising your experience of working here. No victory is too small to celebrate, no issue we cannot solve working together!

Career goal?

Once I am a fellow Director of the GEAB business, or head of my own department, I will consider a career goal fulfilled. Although, I suppose that the way I’m wired means I’ll always be looking for the next step.

There is no typical day in Recruitment. As the business continues to grow, we continue to recruit for an ever-increasing variety of roles.

Describe a typical day in your role?

A typical day would begin with a team meeting or buzz session to set the standards, targets, focus and expectations for the day. After this, I catch up with my closer and EC’s to get an overview of their forecasts. Throughout the day I will be live listening to lead gens, coaching, completing 121’s, dealing with all aspects of the sales process. I constantly support and motivate my team to help them achieve targets.

GEAB Career Highlight:

The highlight of my time here so far, was when one of my lead gens, who had only been in the business for two months, closed a £160k deal within 24-hours.

What does it take to be successful at GEAB?

Hard work. Resilience. Energy.

New team members should know:

You can find an easier job role, less pressure, and more fun at the fairground, but there’s nowhere you can earn commission of 10k at the end of the month.

Career goal?

My measure of success is money. I’d rather clean toilets for 100k a year than run a business for 20k. My goal is to be the richest TM in the northeast.

Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.

Better to be at the bottom of a ladder you want to climb, than halfway up a ladder you don’t want to climb.

Morning meeting followed by tendering and getting ready for deals I have on that day. Touching base with clients and making sure everything is in order for my day.

Earning enough commission to buy my dream car and get a mortgage on my dream house.
